please, no one use these numbers for silly little arguments. i think all 3 are inflated numbers and a 'survey' by a website does not tell me much. Are they reputable? Who did they ask? Did they get an accurate spread of gamers and non gamers who own the consoles to get more accurate results etc etc. Judging from how high these numbers are I would say no.
Leave Iceland alone, its vital for students like me!

Cos the wii has done and will do. A wii price cut? It hasn't had one in its lifetime. In terms of sales the HD consoles are fighting a losing battle. Sorry.
If you have no interest in at least trying it out then frankly its your loss, not nintendo's or their huge userbase.

The wii has failed many times over if the deluded amongst us would be believed. If they haven't accepted that it is the new market leader by now then they never will throughout this generation when it continues to be marketleader.
However having said that it is losing marketshare atm. I'm sure Nintendo loves having the record for having the oldest console ever to not yet have a price cut but if it wants to return to the crushing domination it had in sales then a cut is needed! ...
But MS I guess will be happiest - only 50K off the wii. Can't wait to see what impact the slim and pricecuts have in the next few months. Sony really have needed a lift in sales for a hell of a long time and that time could be coming soon.

-Erm only 1 gran turismo game has reached 10 million. However since when is not selling 10 million been bad? Every gran turismo and halo has sold brilliantly. Calling Halo out for only selling 10 million on its 3rd try is just plain funny!
LMAO @ the sony fanboys here. That sort of dropoff is very normal with a big Japanese release, infact almost every game has shown the same trend.
This game will sell more on the wii than it ever would on the ps3. Remember its ps2 sales? Appalling! It only took off on the PSP which has a userbase that cannot be linked to that on the ps3. Sorry.
bt I don't know why the slim makes it cheaper, is all I was wondering. Glad to see Sony are finally profiting on each one sold now. Price cut coming! :)

actually at the same point in its lifetime according to Sony they had shipped around 36 million ps2's, 13 million ahead of the ps3. The ps2 was a monster though, only beaten by the wii and the DS.
okay it is highly improbable and yes almost impossible to get accurate real time figures. Why would any company such as Sony go roun asking hundreds of thousands of retailers around the world how many have you sold this morning? Its crap. They have no reason to do this.
The shops themselves make the orders and the amount Sony are selling to them is what they (and all companies) track because it is simple, easy and by far the most accurate. It is left to NPD, GFK, Media Create, ...
